Getting Accused of Shortcuts is a Compliment

I used to get offended when people assumed I took shortcuts.
Now? I see it as a compliment.
Because what they’re really saying is, “It looks too good to be real.”
And that’s exactly what happens when consistency compounds—your life starts to look unreal to people still stuck in disbelief.

But I get it.
I used to think like that too.

I remember staying up late watching infomercials, eyes wide with hope.
Fat burners, ab belts, miracle shakes—I bought into it. Literally.
Some of it even worked…
But only as long as I worked.
Because motivation fades.
Hype dies.
And eventually, I’d be back where I started, looking for the next miracle instead of mastering the fundamentals.

It’s funny how often we overlook the simple things.
Not easy—simple.

You know the saying: “Use it or lose it.”
Let’s flip it for weight management:
“Use it to lose it.”

That’s the truth.
You have to use your body—move it, challenge it, respect it—
to keep your muscle, burn through calories, and stay lean.

But most of us do the opposite.
We get older.
We eat bigger portions.
We chase taste instead of nutrients.
We sit more, snack more, and call it comfort.
Then wonder why the weight won’t move.

But no matter how many fads come and go…
The truth doesn’t change:
Calories and consistency. Movement and discipline.

Once I locked that in—really locked it in—it became normal.
Now, not moving feels off.
Not eating with intention throws me off rhythm.
This lifestyle is so ingrained it doesn’t feel like effort anymore—it feels like me.

I know most people only care about fitness in certain seasons.
But I care year-round now.
Because I spent too many years believing it was impossible.
Now I live lean—no shortcuts, no gimmicks, no waiting for a “better time.”

I thought I needed a gym.
So I built one in my home.
I thought I needed a trainer.
So I became one.

But those were just byproducts.
What really changed?
My mindset. My identity. My belief in what was possible.

Me in 2025

Knowledge is power when you claim it for yourself.
Not when you hand it over to a pill, a shot, or a trend.
I’m in love with life now—
God, family, health, and even the process itself.

And the most beautiful part?
I get to share this.
Not to boast. But to show—
You can get there too.

If you want change, you’ve got to keep walking toward it.
Even when there’s no applause.
Even when no one’s watching.
Because every step is faith in motion.

You’ve got to give up on giving up.

Keep going—
And eventually, you’ll be so far ahead,
Even the loudest doubts will be too distant to hear.

I’m Cornelius

A few years ago, right before the “pandemic” I experienced a mindset shift that turned what could have been a midlife crisis into a midlife transformation for the better. What started out as a quest for happiness, ended up unlocking a key to freedom-true freedom. I realized that the greatest transformations start from within. By embracing self love. I reshaped my body and redefined my life and sense of purpose.
